Maria was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She started in shelter medicine in 1991 and continued working in general practice until achieving her LVT status in 1998. Maria was fortunate enough to work for the Animal Medical Center (AMC) in Manhattan for 15 years. Her focus area was patient care and nursing management with a special interest in GI and respiratory medicine. Maria traded high rises for the low country when she relocated to Georgia in 2014, and obtained her RVT status in Georgia in 2015. Maria was welcomed into the Case Veterinary family in July of 2018, as an integral part of the leadership team. She is passionate about continuing education, and implementing the newest techniques to provide patients, clients and staff with the best possible fear-free, stress free and positive experience while at our hospital. Maria shares her home with her soul mate, Ray and 3 furry rescued “kids”. Cassidy, an American bulldog mix, Lucas, a Bengal mix and Noah, an orange tabby Domestic Short Hair. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, thrift shopping and relaxing with her “kids”.
